Mumbai: Mumbai: Varun Dhawan has confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The actor was shooting for his upcoming movie Jug Jug Jeeyo in Chandigarh when he contracted the virus.
He updated about the same in his Instagram account:
He wrote, "So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted #covid_19. All precautions were taken by the production but still nothing is certain in life especially not covid-19. So please be extra careful I believe I could have been more careful. I see the get well soon messages and my spirits are high taking each day at a time thank u."
Not just Varun, but his senior co-star Neetu Kapoor and Jug Jug Jeeyo director, Raj Mehta also have tested positive for the virus.
The other cast members Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani have tested negative. The movie is produced by filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Neetu Kapoor who also contracted the virus has returned to Mumbai through an air ambulance.
Last month, Salman Khan and his family had isolated themselves as Salman Khan's driver and two house staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The driver and his house staffs were admitted in a hospital and their medical expenses were borne by the actor's family.
The family cancelled their grand party plan for Salim Khan and Salma Khan's wedding anniversary.
The actor had wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming action-drama Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai in October. The film, which also stars Disha Patani, was scheduled for an Eid 2020 release, however, it had to be pushed indefinitely due to the pandemic.
