BSF Officer Held For Duping Contractors of Rs 150 Crore; Rs 14 Crore Cash, Jewellery And Cars Recovered

New Delhi: The Gurugram Police on Saturday busted a racket and arrested a serving Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF) who is reported to have duped businessmen of Rs 150.

According to police, the deputy commandant named Praveen Yadav posed as an IPS officer on deputation as NSG chief at the Manesar campus and assured the businessmen of construction contracts for various work on the campus.

So far, the police have recovered a whopping Rs 14 crore cash, jewelry worth Rs one crore, and cars including a Mercedes Benz and BMW.

The police further said that the accused provided the four owners of construction firms with letters of intent and copies of fake tender contracts.

Apart from these, he also made them deposit money in an account with a private bank, in the name of ''office of GC (Garrison) Station HQ, NSG Manesar''.

Interestingly, this account was opened by his sister Ritu Yadav, who is a manager in Axis Bank.

The police further revealed that Yadav was recently posted to Agartala but he had resigned from the BSF.
