New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought a 14-day time from a special CBI court to file its reply on accused Indrani Mukerjea's application seeking probe that her daughter Sheena Bora is alive.

According to reports, the special court had asked the agency to file its reply till today.

Indrani Mukerjea had moved to the special court after she failed to receive any reply on her application seeking probe. She claimed that she met an inmate named Asha Korke at Byculla Jail on November 25.

According to Mukerjea, Korke, lodged in Byculla jail claimed that she met Sheena on June 21 last year near Dal Lake in Srinagar.

Later, the Mukerjea's lawyer also asserted that the concerned woman is ready to record her statement.

Mukerjea is being prosecuted along with three others for allegedly killing Sheena Bora.

In April 2012, 24-year-old Sheena was allegedly strangled to death inside a car in the jungles near Navi Mumbai and the body was disposed of in neighboring Raigad district.

Apart from Indrani, her driver Shyamvar Rai and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna were also arrested by Mumbai Police after the murder came to light in 2015.
