CDS General Bipin Rawat No More, Succumbs to Injuries in Army Chopper Crash

NEW DELHI: The horrific army chopper crash near Ooty in Tamil Nadu led to the death of Chief of Defence (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on December 8.

Notably, Bipin Rawat was among the 14 people who were on board the IAF helicopter that crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the identities of the bodies recovered are being ascertained through DNA testing.

On the other hand, the government of India briefed the Parliament on the tragic helicopter crash of the chief of defence staff (CDS), Bipin Rawat, on Thursday.

The government will issue a statement on the helicopter crash in both the Houses of Parliament on Thursday.

Earlier today, defence minister Rajnath Singh has met the family members of CDS General Bipin Rawat in New Delhi.

Those onboard included CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lieutenant Colonel Harjinder Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kr, Lieutenant Naik Vivek Kumar, Lieutenant Naik B Sai Teja and Havildar Satpal.
