CHITRADURGA (Karnataka): Over a century-old woman recovered from COVID-19 within a week after she contracted the virus from an infected person in Karnataka's Chitradurga, a district doctor said on Sunday. "Siddamma, who is about 100 years old, recovered from the infection and was discharged on Saturday from a COVID designated hospital in the town where she was admitted on July 27 and treated as an asymptomatic patient," district hospital doctor Rangareddy said on phone. Chitradurga is 205 km northwest of Bengaluru.

"Though a native of Burujanahatti village in the district, Siddamma was living with her family in police quarters near the state-run hospital in the town. (IANS)
