Raipur: Two pilots were killed after a Chhattisgarh government helicopter crashed at the Raipur on Thursday.
As per the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Agrawal, the incident took place during a flying practice at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur which falls under the Mana police station limits around 9.10 PM.
Following the accident, the two pilots on board were seriously injured and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead.
The two pilots were identified as Captain Gopal Krishna Panda and Captain A.P. Shrivastava.
However, the cause of the accident is still unknown.
Meanwhile, the state Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed grief over the same and condoled the death of the pilots.
''A tragic report of a state helicopter crash at the airport in Raipur has just been received. Both our pilots Captain Panda and Captain Srivastava have passed away tragically in this tragic accident. In this hour of sorrow, may God give support to his family and peace to the departed soul,'' he tweeted.
