New Delhi: On June 15, 2020, Twenty Indian Soldiers while unspecified number of Chinese troops died in a clash in eastern Ladakh's Galwan valley. The clash also escalated the tension between the two countries.

In February 2021, accepting its causalities, China announced medals to its four soldiers, who died in the clash. However, from time to time several reports claimed that Chinese suffered more losses than what it was officially reported.

Amid all these speculations and reports, finally, an investigative report by Australian newspaper -- The Klaxon -- has claimed that China suffered more losses than it claimed in the 2020 clashes in the Galvan Valley.

The report also went on saying that many Chinese soldiers were drowned in the darkness while crossing the river with a strong current.

The newspaper quoted several anonymous researchers and bloggers from China in this regard.

In this clash, 20 Indian soldiers including Colonel Santosh Babu were martyred. But since then China is accused of hiding the matter of the death of its soldiers.

The claim made by China of less losses are not new, but from the evidence provided by a group of social media researchers on which The Klaxon's news is based, it appears that the damage of China was more than what it was reported.

''It also shows the extent to which Beijing can go to not discuss the clash,'' the report said.
