NEW DELHI: Registration process for admission to Delhi University has been put on hold due to lockdown because of COVID-19 situation
"The registration process for admissions for the session 2020-21 in UG/PG/M.Phil/Ph.D courses of the University of Delhi is on hold till further orders," Delhi University said in a statement.
The Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has, reportedly, directed to promote all students from Class I to VIII without conducting any examination due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus. As per instruction of the HRD Ministry, the Central Board of Secondary Education had, in February this year postponed all examinations half-way like many state Education Boards as a precautionary measure of the deadly virus which has claimed lives of more than 30 thousand people across the globe till now. The HRD ministry also directed the CBSE to pass all students of Class IX and Class XI merely conducting an internal assessment. Moreover, the Ministry asked the Board to conduct examination only for 29 subjects of the 12th standard final examinations so that the students can enroll themselves in university classes.
