NEW DELHI: The Union Health Minister announced that the children aged 12 to 14 years old will be given covid vaccination from Wednesday 16 March.
The age group of 12-14 years will be vaccinated with the Corbevax vaccine that is manufactured by Biological E. Limited in Hyderabad.
On Monday 14 March, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to make the major announcement for the safety of the children stating that if they are safe the country is safe.
The minister along with the news of vaccination of children also informed that senior citizens aged 60 years and above will also get precaution doses from now onwards.
Mandaviya further requested the family members of kids and people ages 60 and above that, they are required to get full vaccination done as soon as possible.
The ministry said in an official statement said that the central government after due consideration with the scientific organizations has taken the decision to begin the covid-19 vaccination for 12 to 13 years and 13 and 14 years, age groups, from 16 March 2022.
The age category comprises those born in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 which means those children who are already above 12 years of age.
1. Go to the Co-win portal by using the link as- www.comin.gov.in.
2. To register select the tab available as 'Register/Sign In.'
3. Create a new account and it is already registered just log in by entering all required credentials.
4. Upload documents such as PAN Card and Adhar Card or any school id cards for registration.
5. For the senior citizen the eligibility will be based on the administration date of the second vaccine dose.
6. By using the Adhar Card, the verification of the people aged 60 and above will be done.
7. Photographs are also required for the verification along with documents.
8. After the completion of the registration process an OTP will be sent to the mobile number provided to verify.
9. Enter location, pin code and other details for booking a slot and click on 'Book Appointment.'
