New Delhi: Prof. Shamika Ravi, former member, PM's Economic Advisory Council, and Research Director at The Brookings Institution, said that the daily COVID cases are falling across most states in India except in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and Odisha.

Ravi took to Twitter to discuss the COVID cases of the country. She said, "A crisis like #COVID19 must become life altering for India. The resolve must be for a comprehensive healthcare reform within 5 years. We cannot be so helpless again! #HealthForAll"

While most of the people are still scared to take vaccinations, she mentioned the percentages of population that has received at least one dose. In the graph she mentioned, the percentage of the vaccination gap for eligible population in Assam as of May 23 is 13% and the percentage of eligible population completely vaccinated in Assam as of May 23 is 3.3%. She tweeted, "Percentage of population that has received at least one dose:

Lowest: UP & TN

Highest: HP & Delhi"

On Tuesday, she said, "It has been 143 days since Akhilesh Yadav publicly announced "I will not get vaccinated... Today #VaccineHesitancy is a real & significant problem in UP, particularly around his own neighborhood. It's time that politicians across parties came together for the sake of citizens."

She also mentioned along with statistical pictures that several states and union territories show a recent uptick. She tweeted, "Case fatality rate: several states and UTs show a recent uptick (given the large number of deaths in last few weeks)."
