Madhubani, Bihar: In a spine-chilling incident, a deaf and mute girl has been allegedly gang-raped in Madhubani district of Bihar on Tuesday (January 12).
According to a media report, the incident took place at Kauwaha Barhi village in Harlakhi police station area in Bihar when the victim had taken her goats for grazing to a field outside the village, said Superintendent of Police (SP), Satya Prakash.
The accused hails from the same village where the victim resides.
Doctors attending the 15-year-old girl in a critical condition said that her eyes were damaged in the incident, however, it is not confirmed yet whether she has completely lost her eyesight.
The accused damaged both her eyes with a sharp object to prevent her from identifying them, police said.
Meanwhile, police have already arrested three persons on Tuesday in connection with the incident.
Ram Ekbal Mandal, the village head said that the victim along with some other children had taken her goats for grazing to a field outside the village. A child among them informed her family about the incident and later, she was found lying unconscious in a barren field in neighbouring Manoharpur village. She was taken to the nearby Umgaon community health centre, where the doctors referred her to Madhubani Sadar Hospital, said the station house officer (SHO) of Harlakhi police station Prem Lal Paswan.
Prior to one day of the incident on January 11, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped and burnt alive at her residence by four people in Muzaffarpur, Bihar who had died this morning at a hospital where is was undergoing treatment.
Speaking to media, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Sub Divisional Police Officer said the minor girl was allegedly gang-raped and burnt alive by four men. The victim's father accused four people and registered an FIR with the police. We have initiated the investigation on the matter, arresting the culprits is our priority."
