NEW DELHI: A drone was seen flying over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home in Delhi early this morning, according to officials, and an investigation has been started. The no-fly zone includes the official house of the prime minister.
At around 5 am, the drone was apparently sighted flying over the PM's home. The Special Protection Group (SPG) officers contacted the Delhi Police, who immediately began a search operation to find the flying object.
According to a statement by Delhi Police, “Information about flying a drone in the no-flying zone above the Prime Minister’s residence was received. SPG contacted the police at 5:30 am. An investigation is underway.”
On June 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the valedictory ceremony at Delhi University's centenary celebrations. He also lay the cornerstone for the Academic Block, the Faculty of Technology building, and the Computer Centre, two other Delhi University structures.He praised the rising ranks of Indian universities while addressing the audience and went on to discuss the background of Delhi University.
The Bastille Day parade in France this year will be unique since Prime Minister Modi will be the honoured guest. Three Indian Air Force Rafale fighter planes are prepared to take part in the Bastille Day flypast over Paris' Champs Elysees. PM Modi has been invited by Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, to the Bastille Day Parade. Paris hosts the customary French military parade on July 14 in honour of Bastille Day. On July 14, the marching contingent would also include the Indian military contingent. On Bastille Day, they will participate in the parade in Paris with their French counterparts. The Bastille Day Parade is one of the oldest ongoing military parades in the world and is recognised as France's National Day.
The India-France Strategic Partnership is likely to enter a new phase as a result of PM Modi's trip to France.
