Delhi Metro: Passengers Now Can Carry 2 Sealed Liquor Bottles, Drinking Prohibited

NEW DELHI: Recently, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that commuters using trains are now permitted to bring two sealed bottles of alcohol. However, it is still strictly forbidden to consume alcohol on metro property. According to reports, this decision was made after a committee made up of representatives from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and DMRC reviewed the former directive that said that carrying alcohol in trains was illegal, with the exception of the Airport Express Line.

On the Blue Line, which runs between Dwarka Sector 21 and Noida Electronic City, a Twitter user who was travelling asked the officers if he could bring alcohol with him. DMRC said, "Hello. In Delhi Metro, two sealed bottles of alcohol are permitted. Additionally, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation made it clear that passengers would need to behave properly when travelling. It threatened to take legal action against passengers who were discovered acting indecently while under the influence of alcohol.

Sharp objects, flammable items, explosive materials, chemicals that render you unconscious, guns, firearms, and other objectionable items are prohibited in the Delhi Metro.

Prime Minister Modi rode the metro earlier on Friday to the Delhi University centenary celebration's valedictory ceremony. At the Yellow Line's Vishwavidyalaya metro station, he got off the train after boarding it at Lok Kalyan Marg. Pictures of Modi riding aboard a metro train and engaging with passengers were released by officials.

As the chief guest, he attended the Delhi University's centenary celebrations' closing ceremony. The Prime Minister then rode the subway to return home after the ceremony, according to the news agency.

According to the DMRC, travellers are urged to behave properly when using the metro. The official added stated that appropriate legal action would be taken against any passenger discovered to be acting indecently while intoxicated in accordance with the applicable laws.
