NEW DELHI: On Sunday, in Delhi, a 16-year-old girl was killed after being stabbed more than 40 times by her lover. The heinous crime was captured on CCTV.

Unsettling security camera footage of the event showed the girl strolling down the street when she was stopped by the suspect, Sahil, who then began stabbing her repeatedly before repeatedly hitting her skull with a concrete slab after she passed out. The accused then left before coming back and throwing the slab at the victim once more.

According to a report, Sahil, who is accused of killing a 16-year-old girl in Delhi, has been detained close to Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

Moreover, Sakshi, a resident of JJ Colony in the Shahbad dairy region, was identified as the deceased. When the police arrived, they discovered the girl's body lying in the roadway.

According to the authorities, Sahil, the accused, and Sakshi were supposedly dating. According to reports, the couple argued the day before the event.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted and wrote on Twitter, “A minor girl is brutally murdered openly in Delhi. This is very sad and unfortunate. The criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police.

LG sir, law and order is your responsibility, do something. The safety of the people of Delhi is of paramount importance.”

However, According to the authorities, the girl was on her way to a friend's son's birthday celebration when the accused intercepted her and brutally attacked her, stabbing her numerous times and also hitting her with a stone.

Furthermore, Swati Maliwal, the executive director of the Delhi Commission for Women, added that women and girls now feel "extremely unsafe" in Delhi. She urged the central government to arrange a high-level meeting with Amit Shah, Arvind Kejriwal, and Lieutenant Governor (L-G) VK Saxena of Delhi.

People may be seen passing by in the widely shared social media footage, looking in panic but doing nothing to stop the accused. Later, Sahil managed to flee the area.
