NEW DELHI: On December 10, 2022, while boarding Flight 6E 7339 from Chennai to Tiruchirapalli, a passenger unintentionally opened the emergency exit. The traveller instantly expressed regret for their behaviour. The event was reported in accordance with SOPs, and the aircraft underwent necessary technical inspections, which caused a delay in the flight's departure.

"On December 10th, a passenger on IndiGo 6E flight 6E-7339 from Chennai to Trivandrum unlocked the emergency door, frightening the other passengers. Soon after the pressurisation checks, the aeroplane took off. A probe into the situation has been ordered by DGCA "DGCA was quoted by the media.

The cabin crew was reportedly advising the passengers on safety routine to be followed when the incident occurred, according to a source. Tejasvi Surya, a member of parliament, was briefed on the required emergency protocols while seated close to one of the emergency doors. "After giving it serious attention, he pulled the lever to cause the emergency exit to open a few minutes later. We were all immediately forced to disembark and board a bus "In the report, a passenger was reported as stating.

In the recent past, numerous incidences of rowdy behaviour by airline passengers have been documented. In addition to "peeing" occurrences on planes, a loud dispute between a passenger and a member of the IndiGo flight crew recently went viral on social media.

The DGCA recently asked the head of operations of the airlines to educate the pilots, cabin crew, and director-in-flight services of their respective airlines on the topic of handling unruly passengers through appropriate means. This request was made in response to instances of unruly behaviour of air passengers where pilots and cabin crew members failed to take appropriate action.
