NEW DELHI: 28 December 2021 marks the 19th birth anniversary and 89th birthday of Indian industrialist and founder of Reliance Industries Limited, Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani known popularly as Dhirubhai Ambani.
Ambani's daughter-in-law Tina Ambani remembers her father-in-law on his 19th birth anniversary by posting throwback pictures on her social media account Instagram.
Many other renowned personalities took to Twitter writing a few words for the late Dhirubhai Ambani on his 89th birthday.
The journey of Ambani is inspiring to many and his legacy is still followed by his family members. He will be remembered forever for his extreme contributions to the sector of business in India. He has been an influential personality throughout his career for his pioneering vision and entrepreneurial spirit. The business tycoon has helped the youth of India to reach new heights in developing their potential.
Ambani was the owner of the biggest exporter in the country who is known for various sectors apart from his contribution to the business. Reliance is a giant petrochemical, power, communications, and textiles and the first privately owned privately organization in the Fortune 500.
Dhirubhai Ambani was born on 28 December 1932 in Chorwad, Gujarat to the rich parents Hirachand Gordhanbhai Ambani and Jamnaben. The notable Indian businessman took his last breath on 6 July 2002 in the Breach Candy Hospital Trust located in Mumbai. Ambani got married to Kokilaben Ambani in the year 1955 and had four children namely Anil Ambani, Mukesh Ambani, Deepti Salgaocar and Nina Kothari.
Ambani migrated to the British colony of Aden at the age of 17 to join his brother and as his first step towards his career, he was appointed as a clerk at A. Besse and Company, Suez where he acquired knowledge about accounting, trading and other businesses. Then in the year 1958, he returned to his motherland India and got settled in Bombay which is present-day Mumbai.
In the late 1950s, Ambani started his trade in spices and increased into other commodities as well with the strategy of providing the best quality items and accepting low benefits than other business competitors. In the year 1977, Dhirubhai Ambani joined the Reliance public when the nationalized banks of India refused to finance him. He then in the 1980s gave the ownership of the company to his sons Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani.
