New Delhi: It is a given that no one would like to pursue something which they do not like, especially youngsters. One would never wish to do something against their will and doing things out of compulsion could have an adverse affect on an individual.

This was emphasized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 2022 edition of 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' where he was addressing the students who will be appearing for their board exams.

PM Modi urged the parents as well as the teachers to refrain from imposing their 'unfulfilled dreams' upon their children and instead told that they should allow the children to follow their dreams.

"Students should not be pressurized by teachers and parents to score good marks. The unfulfilled dreams of parents and teachers should not be forced upon children. They should be allowed to decide their future freely and follow their dreams," PM Modi said.

"Parents sometimes fail to closely observe the strength and interests of their children. We should understand that every child is blessed with something extraordinary that parents and teachers fail to discover a lot of times," he added.

He further went on to explain that online education is based on the principle of acquiring knowledge while offline education is all about sustaining that knowledge and practically applying it further.

The Prime Minister also laid stress upon the significance of proper skillset in today's day and age.

"Technology is not a bane, it should be used effectively. Today students are developing 3D printers and running apps for Vedic mathematics. They're efficiently using technology," the PM said.

PM Modi also advised the students to introspect and then figure out their passion. Once decided, they should indulge themselves in those activities so that they enjoy themselves and at the same time stay motivated.

"There is no injection or formula for motivation. Instead, discover yourself better. Find out what makes you happy and work on that. Do things that you enjoy," PM Modi added.
