GATE 2021: Admit Cards to be Released Today

Students who have applied for GATE 2021 will be able to download their admit card from the website gate.iitb.ac.in Friday onwards.

MUMBAI: The admit card for the national level Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam will be released today. According to the latest updates on the exam, students who have submitted online applications for appearing for the test can download the admit card from Friday.

Notably, the admit card or hall ticket for sitting in the exam will be available for download at the official website gate.iitb.ac.in  Applying students can visit the IIT Bombay website and download their respective admit cards by inserting correct credentials such as Enrollment ID an password as entered initially while filling up the application form. 

The graduate level engineering exam held annually by Indian Institute of Technology will take place on the dates of 6, 7, 13 and 14 February 2021. The 3-hour long exam will be held for 100 marks and consist of 65 questions. The result are set to be declared on March 22, 2021.

GATE 2021 will moreover be held in CBT (Computer Base Test) mode and will be entirely objective type. In the objective pattern, some will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), while others will be Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. It will be conducted in two sessions - forenoon and afternoon.

This year a total of 8,82,684 students have applied for the exam which will be administered by IIT-Bombay.

It may be mentioned that candidates must appear at the exact exam centre on the specific day and time as mentioned in the admit card. No change with regards to exam dates or centre or exam session will be made by the authorities once the hall ticket releases.

Manwhile, the GATE exam has newly introduced entrances to humanities courses along with science and engineering. Two courses, namely environmental science and engineering and humanities and social sciences have been added, making 27 as the total number of subjects.

Notably, the schedule for GATE 2021 is subject to change depending on the COVID situation of the country.  

Out of the total 8,82,684 applied students, as many as 14,196 students have applied for the humanities subjects.

Overall, the number of female applicants has also been said to increase this year.

Those who clear GATE will be eligible for admission to MTech courses at IITs as well as be eligible for jobs in PSUs.

For appearing in the exam this year, the students have had to possess a minimum eligibility criteria of 10+2+3 instead of the earlier 10+2+4. This means, students studying in the third year of their undergraduate programmes can also apply for GATE 2021.
