Goa: Goa's rich culture and heritage to be added with another feather, this time it is nothing but a museum; only for alcohol. This favorite destination of tourists is all set up to gain even more popularity with a new kind of setup for alcohol lovers.

The place will surely be a paradise for somewhere locally made alcohol will be brewed. The founder of the museum, Nandan Kudchadkar is a businessman who also has a passion for the collection of antiques. The museum is located in the village of Candolim, on a small beach.

The place is filled with various numbers of artifacts related to the feni, incorporating traditional vats of glass where locally prepared alcohol is stored for centuries. While talking to the media, the owner of the museum Kudchadkar said, "The objective behind starting the museum was to make the world aware of Goa's rich heritage, especially the story of feni and the legacy of the alcohol trail from Brazil to Goa". He also added, "We have glass Garafalo's (vats) which date back to centuries, an era when the Portuguese ruled Goa. There are hundreds of exhibits, each made with love and the very act of seeing them in their glory makes us feel passionate about our heritage".

History says that cashews were first brought to the country during the 1700s by the Portuguese, one of the colonial powers who have tried to rule over India. From Brazil, the story of cashews has started and it is also said that there is one thing very common between Goa and Brazil and it is the Lusophonian influence. Once the roots of the plants are brought into this coastal region, cashews have started to be popularized among the locals and so has feni.

Cashew feni is one such kind that is considered as the first indigenous liquor of India which has been able to attain the tag of Geographical Indication. This is basically a process that was started by the manufacturers from the local area in 2009. Kudchadkar believes that this is a brilliant way to demonstrate the flavor of such a colonial drink to the entire world.
