Shimla: At least eleven people got struck in mid-air in a cable car at Parwanoo Timber Trail in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district.

However, out of 11 people, seven have been rescued and currently, a rescue operation is underway to save others.

Reportedly, the cable car got stuck due to a technical fault, the ropeway trolley could not complete its path and get stuck in the middle.

Among eleven people, four were women, and two were senior citizens.

''The rescue operation is going on for about two hours to save these people. No one was hurt in the accident and everyone is safe,'' Parwanoo Deputy Superintendent of Police Pranav Chauhan said.

In April this year, a similar incident occurred in Jharkhand's Deogarh district where three people lost their lives while many were injured.

As per official reports as many as 50 people are rescued from the cable car stuck mid-air after a technical glitch of the ropeway that resulted in a trolley car collision on Sunday 10 April at around 04:00 pm.

After the accident was reported on Sunday evening rescue operations on the spot began by combined teams of the Indian Army, AIF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Among the three deceased, one man died after he fell off an IAF chopper because of losing his grip on a dangling rope amid the rescue operation.
