New Delhi:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to inaugurate the four-day-long festival ''Destination North-East 2020'' on September 27. The festival aims to showcase and boost the Northeast as a tourism and investment destination. DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh will be the guest of honor.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that event is to ensure that the North-eastern region becomes a top destination in India post COVID-19 rather than going anywhere abroad. This move will enhance Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent push for Atmanirbhar Bharat by focussing on ''Vocal for Local''.

Singh took to Twitter to share the logo and theme song of the festival.

Singh also said that the region has a lot to offer from its culture, entrepreneurship skills, cuisines, scenic attributes, and highly disciplined culture.

The festival "Destination North East" has been held in different parts of the country for the last couple of years. This year, the event can be attended while being at home as it will be conducted virtually because of the pandemic.
