"I cleared Class 4 exams recently, now I want to study further," Ms Karthiani told PM. She had come to Delhi to collect the award.

Karthyayini Amma scored a 30 on 30 for her reading test, 40 on 40 for Malayalam writing and 28 on 30 for Mathematics.

She started her academic journey January 2018 after working very very hard in her life to take care of herself and her family.

Bhageerathi Amma, a 105-year-old achiever from Kerala could not come to receive her awards. Both the super grannies have passed the Class IV literacy equivalent examinations. Bhageerathi Amma was inspired to take the examinations conducted by the State Literacy Mission in Malayalam, Mathematics, and Environment in November 2019. At 105 years, she is the oldest literacy equivalent learner under the Kerala State Literacy Mission. She had to quit education to take care of her siblings. With her memory and eyesight intact, her 67-year-old daughter was present to help her during the examinations. The Nari Shakti award was given to 12 women for doing exceptional work in their fields.

For a fact, PM Modi also organised a social media campaign to honour extraordinary women.

Modi on Monday had surprised everyone after he tweeted that he was thinking of giving up social media accounts.

Minutes after the tweet, social media went abuzz as to why the Prime Minister was thinking about leaving social media platforms. There was speculation that the reason for thinking of going away from social media might be the alleged misuse of it to spread rumors. Recently the national capital witnessed heavy use of social media to propagate rumors which resulted in amplified effects of riots in Delhi.

Later he clarified that he is not going to give up his social media accounts.

Instead on March 8, on the occasion of Women’s Day, he is going to give away his social media accounts to inspiring women.

He tweeted, “This Women’s Day, I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions. Are you such a woman or do you know such inspiring women? Share such stories using #SheInspiresUs.”
