In A 'Goodwill Gesture', India Releases Two Pakistani Nationals

The two Pakistani Nationals were identified as Sarwar Baig and Mohammad Asif. The duo had accidentally crossed the border in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

New Delhi: In a goodwill gesture, India on Sunday released two Pakistani nationals who had entered India accidentally by crossing the border.

According to reports, the two Pakistani Nationals were identified as Sarwar Baig and Mohammad Asif. The duo had accidentally crossed the border in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Protocol officer Arunpal Singh speaking on the same asserted that the par was released and repatriated to Pakistan after checking their papers and completing custom immigration.

"I crossed the border by mistake. I am feeling happy that I am going back to my family," ANI quoted Sarwar Baig as saying.

Echoing similar sentiments, Asif, said, "It has been four years since I crossed the border. I came here by mistake."
