Indian Railways To Offer Disposable Blanket-Pillow Kit In Trains: Here's All You Need To Know

Earlier, Indian Railways had decided to resume catering services in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duranto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatiman Express.

New Delhi: After the havoc of the second wave of Corona subsided, the Railways has resumed couple of its facilities. Railways had recently decided to remove the status of Special Train from all trains. Apart from this, it has also been announced recently to restore the facility of packaged food in trains. In the midst of all this, there is a news making rounds, which the passengers traveling in the train have been waiting for a long time and it none other than providing, pillow and blanket in trains.

Indian Railways New Disposable Travel Kit

The blankets and pillow which will be provided to the passengers will be disposable. Reportedly, in view of the cold, the Railways has decided to restart this facility in a phased manner from December 1.

Disposable Travel Kit Cost And Availability

According to several reports, the Indian railways has installed retail kiosks form where the people would be able to buy the disposable blankets and pillows. The disposable linen kiosks have installed at some stations of the Danapur division. In order to avail these stuffs, passenger will need to spend Rs 300.

Indian Railway Delhi Division

Numerous divisions of railway including Delhi have decided to provide disposable bed sheets, blankets in the stations. Passengers travelling in AC coaches will be provided with the disposable bedroll facility. The Delhi division has also started the facility for over five dozen trains travelling to different parts of India from the national capital.

Three Types of Disposable Bedroll Kits

The reports further added that there will be three types of disposable bedroll kits will be available on the train of which one kit will contain a non-woven blanket, non-woven bed sheet, non-woven pillow and its cover.

Earlier, the Railways had recently decided to remove the registration of special status from trains. However, the passengers will now have to pay the same fare as they were paying before. One should know that as compare normal trains fare, the passengers had to pay 30 percent more for special trains.
