NEW DELHI: Shivangi Singh, the first female Rafale fighter aircraft pilot of India was among India's Air Forces tableau during the national celebration of Republic Day on Wednesday 26 January.
The topic of India's Air Forces tableau for this year is 'Indian Air Force Transforming for the future.'
Singh is the only second female fighter aircraft pilot in the history of Indian Air Forces (IAFs) to be a part of the tableau. Last year fight lieutenant Bhawna Kanth created history by becoming the first women fighter aircraft pilot taking part in the IAF tableau.
Shivangi Singh is a resident of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and was commissioned into the Indian Air Forces batch 2nd of female fighter pilots. She was enlisted in the IAF in the year 2017.
Before flying the Rafale, Singh made a big landing as she had flown MiG-21 Bison aircraft. Notably, she is a part of the Indian Air Forces Golden Arrows squadron based in Ambala of Punjab.
The float included an indigenously designed LCH (light combat helicopter), scaled-down versions of the Rafale fighter plane and Aslesha MK-1 3D observation radar.
A scaled-down model of the MiG-21 aircraft was also added which played a very significant role in the victory of India in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 that led to the formation of the Bangladesh country. It also resulted in the formation of the Gnat which is the first indigenously manufactured aircraft of India.
The initial batch of Rafale fighter jets had arrived in the year 2020. The first batch arrived after at least 4 years of India and France's intergovernmental agreement to purchase a total of 36 planes worth Rupees 59, 000 crores.
Till now the Indian Air Forces has got 32 Rafale jets and it is expected to receive four more that are scheduled to arrive in the month of April 2022.
The entire country is celebrating the pride moment of Shivangi Singh being a part of the IAF tableau on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day of the country. The proud nation celebrates Shivangi on social media platforms by regarding her as an inspiration for the upcoming generations and Indian female youth.
