This year's results have also been marred with controversy as an investigation by the CBI had found that at least one of the JEE Mains 2021 examination centres was compromised.

Earlier this month, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at 20 locations in the country in connection with a case of alleged irregularities by a private institution in the Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) 2021. The places where the raids were conducted include Delhi-NCR, Pune and Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. A case has been registered on September 1 against the private company, its directors, three employees and a few others.

The JEE (Mains)'s fourth session ended on September 2. Earlier, the examination was scheduled to be held from July 27 to August 2, but it was later postponed to August 26 to September 2 to provide the candidates a gap of four weeks between the examination's two sessions. As per available information, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had on July 15 said the National Testing Agency (NTA) was advised to give a gap of four weeks between the third and fourth session of the JEE (Main) examination. The decision of giving the gap was taken considering the demand from students for the same. Accordingly, the JEE (Mains) 2021 has been scheduled on August 26, 27 and 31 and on September 1 and 2, the education minister had said in July.
