BENGALURU: In Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, a man is accused of slitting the throat of a person who he thought was his wife's boyfriend and then drinking his blood. The incident happened in the Chintamani taluk of the Chickballapura district.

According to a report, the accused's companion had recorded the act, and a video of the incident has now gone viral. The suspect, 32-year-old Vijay, has already been taken into custody.

As per sources, Vijay, a shopkeeper from Mandyampet, reportedly became enraged when he discovered that Maresh, a neighbour, was developing feelings for his wife. According to the authorities, Maresh and Vijay's wife frequently chatted on their mobile phones and remained in contact.

On June 19, Vijay enticed Maresh to a neighbouring woodland with the help of his friend John. He attacked Maresh there, severely wounding his throat, and then started drinking his blood. On his phone, John captured the horrible incident.

Maresh was taken to a hospital right away after the incident to obtain treatment for his wounds. Thankfully, he was later released and went back to his house. Maresh reported Vijay to the police, which resulted in his arrest. Authorities are currently looking into the incident and assembling proof against the suspects.

Due to the viral video footage that has been spreading on social media, this horrific tragedy has shocked the neighbourhood and garnered a lot of media attention. It serves as a reminder of the value of resolving problems and disagreements amicably and obtaining legal assistance as opposed to using force.

The authorities are dedicated to seeing that justice is served in this matter and to holding those accountable for such atrocious acts accountable as necessary.

In 2022, at a family court a man allegedly killed his estranged wife by slitting her throat, according to authorities. To resolve the conflict between the couple, where Chaitra (28) and Shivakumar (32) had also arrived, a family court was set up in Hole Narasipura.

According to witnesses, “Chaitra went to the toilet after an hour of counselling, when her husband Shivakumar slit her throat with a knife. She was placed on an artificial respiration by our personnel before being brought to the hospital in an ambulance. The moment she was transported to the hospital, the medical staff pronounced her dead. Her throat was also sliced open, and both arteries were severed.”
