Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 began at 8 AM on Tuesday morning across the country for 543 seats in the Lower House of the Indian Parliament.

Counting Begins for the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency

Counting of votes for the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency began in the Maniran Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati at the stipulated time along with the rest of the country. Officials engaged for counting of votes arrived as early as 6 AM at the venue ahead of the process.

Sarbananda Sonowal Leads in Dibrugarh

Former Chief Minister of Assam and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took the early lead in the Dibrugarh Constituency of Assam for the Bharatiya Janta Party. He took the lead against Lurinjyoti Gogoi of the Assam Jatiya Parishad.

Gaurav Gogoi Leads in Kaziranga

Indian National Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi took the early lead in the Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency. The counting began at 8 AM on Tuesday for this constituency and Gaurav Gogoi took the early lead against Topon Kumar Gogoi of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

PM Modi Leads In Varanasi, Amit Shah Ahead In Gandhinagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is contesting from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, has taken an early lead as of 8:30 AM.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also leading in the Gandhinagar Parliamentary constituency.

Rahul Gandhi ahead in Wayanad, Raebareli Lok Sabha seats in very early leads

As the counting of votes is underway, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is leading in both the Lok Sabha seats that he is contesting in.

Rahul Gandhi is leading in the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh which happens to be the family bastion of the Gandhis.

He is also ahead in the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. Mr. Gandhi is the sitting MP of this seat.

Pradyut Bordoloi Leads In Nagaon

Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has taken a lead in the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat as of 9 AM.

Suresh Borah, the BJP candidate of the Nagaon seat, is currently trailing as per early trends.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Rakibul Hussain is also leading against AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal in the Dhubri Lok Sabha seat.

This seat is expected to witness a close battle between the two titans of Assam.

Ajmal had earlier exuded confidence in his victory, asserting that he is optimistic about winning the seat for a record fourth term.

BJP's Bijuli Kalita Medhi Leads In Guwahati

Bijuli Kalita Medhi of the BJP is currently leading in the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat against Congress candidate Mira Borthakur Goswami as of 9:30 AM.

Narendra Modi Trailing By 6000+ votes

In an unexpected turn of event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trailing by 6223 votes in the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat as of 9:30 AM.

Ajay Rai of the Indian Congress National is currently leading in this high-profile constituency.

Stock Market Dips as Counting Starts on Tuesday Morning

After the Indian Stock Market touched a record high on Monday ahead of the elections, the same saw a dip on Tuesday morning. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 tanked at opening on Tuesday. Sensex plunged by 1,700 points while Nifty dipped below 22,800. Investors are said to have lost over Rs 10 Lakh Crores because of this plunge from the record-high closing on Monday. 

It can be noted that such behaviour of the Sensex and Nifty is not uncommon during the poling and counting days and the same is expected to recover once the counting reveals a winning trend. 

Meanwhile, some of the top gainers are Hindustan Unilever, Britannia, Hero Motor Corp and Apollo Hospitals while some of the top losers are Adani Ports, Adani Ent., Coal India and NTPC.

BJP Leads In Kaziranga While INC Ahead In Nagaon

The BJP has taken a massive lead in Kaziranga Lok Sabha seat as its candidate Kamakhya Prasad Tasa is ahead by 45740 votes.

On the other hand, INC contender and former Minister Pradyut Bordoloi is leading by 14476 votes against BJP's Suresh Borah in the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, INC's Gaurav Gogoi is also ahead by 20887 votes against BJP's Topon Kumar Gogoi in the Jorhat Lok Sabha seat.

Furthermore, Sarbananda Sonowal has also taken a massive lead of 49648 in the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat against AJP's Lurin Jyoti Gogoi.

Kangana Ranaut Offers Prayers, Takes Massive Lead In Mandi

Actor-turned politician Kangana Ranaut, vying for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, has taken a big lead against Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh. She is ahead by 31092 votes.

Meanwhile, Arun Govil, the BJP candidate from Meerut renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the popular TV serial Ramayan, has also taken a comfortable lead of 43712 votes.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar Ahead In Thiruvananthapuram

The Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat in Kerala is witnessing a closely fought contest as Union Minister and BJP contender Rajeev Chandrasekhar is leading by a small margin of 4,948 votes against three-time sitting MP and Congress heavyweight Shashi Tharoor.

 In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Shashi Tharoor won the seat by a margin of 99,989 votes, securing 41.19% of the total votes cast.

PM Modi Back In Lead In Varanasi

After trailing in early trends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has restored his lead in the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

PM Modi has registered 161484 votes under his belt so far while his closest challenger Ajay Rai of the INC has 111780 votes to his name.

The two-time Varanasi MP is leading by a comfortable margin of 49704.

See-Saw Battle Unfolding In Maharashtra

The state of Maharashtra is witnessing a neck-to-neck battle as the scores have been tied between the contenders.

The Congress Party is leading in 11 seats, BJP in 11 seats, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackrey) - SHSUBT in 10 seats, Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar - NCPSP in 8 seats, Shiv Sena - SHS in 6 seats, NCP in 1 seat and an independent is leading in 1 seat as well.

While Union minister Piyush Goyal is leading in Mumbai North, NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule has consolidated a margin over her sister-in-law and rival Sunetra Pawar.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also taken a lead of 33954 votes in the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat.

TMC's Mahua Moitra, Abhishek Banerjee In Driving Seat In West Bengal 

TMC candidate Mahua Moitra is leading by 35223 votes in the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, TMC scion Abhishek Banerjee is also ahead in the Diamond Harbour seat by a margin of 217912 votes.

Meanwhile, the TMC has taken a lead in 32 seats while BJP is leading in 9 seats and the Congress Party is leading in only 1 seat in the state of West Bengal.

Odisha Heads for Major Upset in Both Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly

Odisha heads for a major upset in both the Lok Sabha as well as the Legislative Assembly polls. BJP leads in 19 out of 21 seats of the state while the BJD leads in just 1 and INC is leading in 1 seat. In the legislative assembly as well, the BJP is leading in 76 seats while the BJD leads in 56. INC leads in 12 seats and CPIM in 1.

As the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government has been in power in the state since 2000, his party trailing in a vast majority of seats hints at the unhappiness among the citizens. Naveen Patnaik himself has a lead of just 2157 votes against BJP's Sisir Kumar Mishra.

It was expected that this seat would be a cakewalk for the BJP.

The BJP has suffered a massive blow as their Raebareli candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh concedes defeat to Rahul Gandhi.

'Will stay with Raebareli in pain and happiness,' the BJP candidate remarked after conceding defeat.

Rahul Gandhi has got 411755 votes under his belt while BJP's candidate has only 184220 votes to his name so far.

As a result, Rahul Gandhi has taken a massive lead of 233034 votes.

BJP Trails in Constituency with Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Ayodhya comes under the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh and this is where PM Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Ram Mandir, fulfilling one of the core promises of the BJP.

But in what hints at a possible upset, the BJP now trails behind the SP candidate for the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency. At 2 PM on Tuesday, the Samajwadi Party’s Awadhesh Prasad led the race with 10425 votes while Lallu Singh of BJP was trailing behind. 

Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah Concedes Defeat In Baramulla

Former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of jailed independent candidate Engineer Rashid in Baramulla.

Engineer Rashid was put behind bars along with other leaders of the valley following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.

"I think it's time to accept the inevitable. Congratulations to Engineer Rashid for his victory in North Kashmir. I don't believe his victory will hasten his release from prison nor will the people of North Kashmir get the representation they have a right to but the voters have spoken and in a democracy that's all that matters," Abdullah tweeted.

Tamil Nadu State BJP President and Coimbatore candidate K Annamalai is trailing by 26701 votes against DMK's Ganapathy Rajkumar P.

Ecstatic by his probable defeat, the DMK workers pounced on this opportunity to poke fun at Annamalai.

The delighted DMK cadres came to the party headquarters with a goat that had Tamil Nadu BJP chief's photo hung on its neck.

In a hilarious scene that unfolded in Coimbatore, DMK workers distributed mutton biryani. Annamalai is mockingly called "aadu" (meaning goat) in Tamil Nadu by his critics.

Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti concedes defeat in Anantnag-Rajouri seat

PDP chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti conceded defeat against National Conference leader Mian Altaf in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

Altaf is a spiritual leader revered by the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities across Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi registered a landslide victory in Jalandhar, winning by 1,75,993 votes over BJP's Sushil Kumar Rinku.

Channi, a Dalit leader, secured 390,053 votes while Rinku bagged 2,14,060 votes.

Congress Dominates Both Seats In Manipur

The Congress Party has put up a good show in Manipur as they are comfortably leading in both the seats.

Congress candidate Angomcha Bimol Akoijam is leading by 103345 votes in the Inner Manipur seat while Alfred Kanngam S Arthur also from the Congress is ahead by 66722 votes in the Outer Manipur seat.

The Congress is in pole position to secure both the seats in Manipur.

PM Modi To Arrive At BJP Headquarters At 7 PM

As the ruling NDA bloc has crossed the majority mark of 272 and has their eyes set on forming the government for the third consecutive time despite their numbers falling, the BJP has planned a victory celebration at its party headquarters in Delhi in the evening.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar concedes defeat to Shashi Tharoor

BJP Candidate and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has conceded defeat to three-time sitting MP Shashi Tharoor of the Congress in the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat, PTI reported. 

"It is disappointing that I couldn't win today, but fought a clean campaign. We didn't use divisiveness like our opposition," Chandrasekhar told PTI.

As it stands, Shashi Tharoor is leading by a margin of 16077.

Union Minister Prahlad Joshi Wins In Dharwad

Union Minister and BJP leader Prahlad Joshi has emerged victorious in Karnataka's Dharwad Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 97,324 votes.

Prahlad Joshi secured 7,16,231 votes while his closest rival Vinod Asooti of the Congress bagged 6,18,907 votes.

PM Modi Retains Varanasi Seat; Amit Shah Secures Landslide Victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive time.

PM Modi defeated Ajay Rai of the Congress by a margin of 152513 votes.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has registered a massive victory in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, winning by a huge margin of 744716 votes.

SKM Wins Lone Seat In Sikkim, BJP Conquers Tripura, Congress Bags Tura Seat In Meghalaya

The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has won the lone Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim. SKM's Indra Hang Subba secured a total of 164396 votes and won by a comfortable margin of 80830.

As far as Tripura is concerned, the BJP has bagged the Tripura East seat as its candidate Kriti Devi Debbarman won by a margin of 486819 votes.

The Tripura West seat is won by Biplab Kumar Deb by a margin of 611578 votes.

Meanwhile, in Meghalaya, Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma won by a margin of 155241 votes in the Tura Lok Sabha seat.

On the other hand, Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon representing Voice of the People party emerged victorious by a margin of 371910 votes in the Shillong Lok Sabha seat.

BJP Sweeps Arunachal Pradesh

The BJP has won both the Lok Sabha seats of Arunachal Pradesh. Kiren Rijiju has bagged the Arunachal West seat by a margin of 100738 votes while Tapir Gao has won the Arunachal East seat by a margin of 30421 votes.

Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Thakur Win In Himachal 

Actor-turned politician Kangana Ranaut's plunge into politics turned sweet as she emerged victorious from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, defeating Congress heavyweight Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 74,755 votes.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has won in the Hamirpur seat by a margin of 182357 votes.

Congress Wins Lone Nagaland Seat

Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir has won the lone Nagaland Lok Sabha seat. Jamir has registered 401951 votes under his belt and has won by a margin of 50984 votes.

Smriti Irani Loses Amethi Seat

Union Minister Smriti Irani has lost the Amethi seat to Kishori Lal of the Congress. Kishori Lal secured 539228 votes while Smriti Irani got 372032 votes.

Kishori Lal won by a margin of 167196 votes in the Amethi seat, causing another upset.

ZPM Wins Lone Seat In Mizoram

Richard Vanlalhmangaiha of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) has won the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat.

He secured 208552 votes and won by a comfortable margin of 68288 votes.

Independent candidate Mohammad Haneefa wins Ladakh

The union territory of Ladakh which saw massive protests by locals demanding statehood, witnessed an upset.

Independent candidate Mohammad Haneefa won the constituency by 27,862 votes, defeating Tsering Namgyal of the Congress and BJP's Tashi Gyalson finished in third position.

BJP Wins Indore Seat By Record Margin

The BJP has scripted history by winning the Indore Lok Sabha seat by a record margin.

BJP Candidate Shankar Lalwani won by a humongous margin of 1008077 votes.

It is also worth mentioning that NOTA option has garnered 218674 votes in the Indore seat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to express gratitude to the people for entrusting their faith in him.

In his post, PM Modi also appreciated the BJP workers for their unwavering commitment and exceptional efforts.

"People have placed their faith in NDA, for a third consecutive time! This is a historical feat in India’s history. I bow to the Janata Janardan for this affection and assure them that we will continue the good work done in the last decade to keep fulfilling the aspirations of people. I also salute all our Karyakartas for their hard work. Words will never do justice to their exceptional efforts," PM Modi's post read.

Meanwhile, PM Modi also congratulated his allies for NDA's resounding victory in Andhra Pradesh.

Furthermore, PM Modi extended his gratitude to the people of Odisha for bringing the BJP to power in the state for the first time.

Rahul Gandhi Thanks Voters For Saving Constitution And Democracy

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to X to express delight for the INDIA bloc's morale boosting performance in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

In his post, Gandhi said that the people of India have saved the Constitution and democracy.

"The deprived and poor population of the country stood with India to protect their rights," the post added.

The Congress MP also congratulated all the alliance partners and the Congress workers as the INDIA bloc regained significant territory at the expense of the BJP-led NDA.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has pulled off an incredible upset in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad Lok Sabha seat against all odds.

In a huge shocker, SP candidate Awadhesh Prasad defeated Lallu Singh of the BJP by a margin of 54567 votes.

This unexpected victory is a massive blow to the BJP in their bastion as the Ram Mandir located in Ayodhya falls within the Faizabad parliamentary constituency.

Angomcha Bimol Akoijam won the Inner Manipur seat by a margin of 109801 votes while Alfred Kanngam S Arthur triumphed in the Outer Manipur seat by a margin of 85418 votes.

BJP Wins In Kaziranga and Lakhimpur

The BJP has won 2 seats in Assam so far. BJP candidate Kamakhya Prasad Tasa emerged victorious in the Kaziranga Lok Sabha seat as he won by a margin of 248947 votes.

In the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidate Pradan Baruah triumped by a margin of 201257 votes.

BJP Emerges Victorious In Sonitpur And Guwahati

The BJP has won the Sonitpur Lok Sabha seat. BJP candidate Ranjit Dutta got 775788 votes while Premlal Ganju of the Congress has 414380 votes under his name. The BJP candidate has won by a margin of 361408 votes.

In the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat, Bijuli Kalita Medhi of the BJP has defeated Congress contender Mira Borthakur Goswami by a margin of 251090 votes.

Gaurav Gogoi Has The Last Laugh In Jorhat

Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi has registered an impressive victory in the Jorhat Lok Sabha seat, defeating Topon Kumar Gogoi of the BJP by a margin of 144393 votes.

BJP Triumphs In Diphu and Dibrugarh

Amarsing Tisso of the BJP won the Diphu Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 147603 votes.

Meanwhile, Union Minister and former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has emerged victorious in the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat by defeating AJP candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi by a margin of 279321 votes.

Jailed Independent Candidate Amritpal Singh Wins In Punjab 

In a major shocker, Independent candidate Amritpal Singh won in the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 197120 votes.

Amritpal Singh Sandhu is a radical pro-Khalistan separatist,a self-styled Sikh preacher and the leader of Waris Punjab De.

He is currently behind bars in Assam's Dibrugarh jail.

Congress Emerges Victorious In Dhubri and Nagaon, BJP Wins In Silchar And Darrang-Udalguri

Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain has registered an emphatic victory against AIUDF chief and four-time sitting MP Badruddin Ajmal by a record margin of 1012476 votes in the Dhubri Lok Sabha seat.

In the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat, Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi has emerged victorious against BJP's Suresh Borah by a margin of 212231 votes.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Parimal Suklabaidya has won in the Silchar Lok Sabha seat, defeating Surya Kanta Sarkar of the Congress by a margin of 264311 votes.

Furthermore, the BJP has also scored a victory in the Darrang-Udalguri Lok Sabha seat as its candidate Dilip Saikia won by a margin of 329012 votes.

BJP Wins In Karimganj, AGP Wins In Barpeta

BJP's Kripanath Mallah has won in the Karimganj Lok Sabha seat, defeating Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury of the Congress by a margin of 18360 votes.

Meanwhile, Phani Bhushan Choudhury of the AGP has won in the Barpeta Lok Sabha seat.

UPPL Wins In Kokrajhar

Joyanta Basumatary of the UPPL has won in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat, defeating Kampa Borgoyari of the BPF by a margin of 51583 votes.
