Lunar Eclipse 2020 on July 5: Here are the timings

The third penumbral lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan of the year is on July 5, 2020

Guwahati: After the spectacular view of the 'Ring of Fire' solar eclipse last month, people will now have another chance of witnessing a celestial event on July 5, Sunday.

This time, a penumbral eclipse will occur on Sunday, July 5, and will be the third lunar eclipse that we will get to witness this year. This eclipse will be visible only in some parts across the world. The eclipse would be visible in parts of North and South America and Europe and will also be visible in the Western parts of Africa.

It comes days after the deepest annular solar eclipse or 'Surya Grahan' of this century which was witnessed for over three hours on June 21. However, India will not able to witness this lunar eclipse since it is going to take place during the day time, but a number of live streams will be made available online for interested viewers.

The penumbral eclipse will begin at 08:37:23 pm (IST)

The maximum eclipse will be witnessed at 09:59:51 pm (IST)

and

The Penumbral Eclipse will end at 11:22:21 pm (IST)

The eclipse that will last for 2 hours and 45 minutes will not appear much different from the regular moon to the naked eye; however, the moon will appear darker.
