Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari spoke to Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh and expressed his concern over the health and security of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.

Goswami was arrested on November 4 in connection with abetment to suicide case.

Governor Koshyari has also asked Deshmukh to allow Arnab Goswami to meet his family in jail. Koshyari has earlier also conveyed his concerns to Deshmukh over the way Goswami was arrested.

On Monday, the Bombay High Court refused to grant bail to Goswami. A division bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik said: "no case was made out in the present matter for the high court to exercise its extraordinary jurisdiction."

Goswami along with two others, Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda were arrested by Alibaug police in connection with the suicide of an interior designer, Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018 over alleged non-payment of dues by companies of the accused.

On Sunday, Goswami was shifted to Taloja jail after he was found using a mobile phone while in judicial custody.
