NEW DELHI: A Delhi court today extended Manish Sisodia's detention by five days following the Enforcement Directorate's request for an additional week to look into allegations against him related to the Delhi liquor case.

The leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had stated that the Enforcement Directorate interrogates just for 30 minutes to an hour every day and did not require further detention.

Manish Sisodia had already complained to the court that the CBI repeatedly asked him the identical questions every day, and as a result, the agency was told not to do so.

The former deputy chief minister of Delhi was permitted by the court to sign checks for household expenses.

Manish Sisodia has been imprisoned since February 26 after the CBI detained him in connection with alleged corruption involving a new alcohol policy that was abandoned after nine months.

Allegations of money laundering in connection with the case are being looked into by the Enforcement Directorate.

Mr. Sisodia questioned what the investigation agency had done up to this point as it sought seven more days of custody today to continue its investigation. If they want further custody after seven months of investigation, they must demonstrate their resources, Mr. Sisodia's attorney argued in court.

"They only question me for 30 to 60 minutes. Only yesterday, the interrogation lasted well into the night”, Sisodia argued.

That's because in the CBI's instance, when he complained of mental harassment, the Enforcement Directorate retorted. The Enforcement Directorate continued to argue that Mr. Sisodia had switched their mobile phones numerous times.

party leader declared, "They want to make sure Manish Sisodia is kept in jail at all costs, even if they are unable find anything substantial.”
