Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi dies of COVID-19

Suresh Angadi was initially asymptomatic after testing positive for COVID. He was later admitted to AIIMS.

New Delhi: Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi died of Covid-19 on Wednesday. Angadi who had tested positive for Covid-19 on September 11 was initially asymptomatic but was later admitted to AIIMS.

Condolences poured in after Andadi's demise from across party lines.

''He was a dedicated MP and effective Minister, admired across the spectrum. His demise is saddening.'' Tweeted Modi.

65-year-old Suresh Angadi was a four-time Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka's Belagavi constituency, elected in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Angadi is the second member of Parliament to succumb to the virus. He is also the second member of Parliament from Karnataka to die of Covid-19 after BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Gasti, who passed away last week.
