Owner Throws Grand Party Worth Rs 7 Lakh On His Dog's Birthday, Police Arrest Three For Violating COVID Norms

Although celebrating the birthday of a dog does not violate any law, but the way the COVID rules were violated in the birthday party, forced the police to take action against the owner.

Ahmedabad: There are many families across the world, for whom pets are not just an animal, they as same as member of the family. We come across many such examples from time to time through the Internet, which show how much people love their pets and how they do not hesitate to do anything to make their everyday special.

Now, one such family from Ahmedabad in Gujarat is in the news, who not only organized a grand party for the birthday of their pet dog 'Abby', but also spent about 7 lakh rupees on it.

Its pictures and videos became very viral on social media, after which the police have now taken action in this matter. Although celebrating the birthday of a dog does not violate any law, but the way the COVID rules were violated in the birthday party, forced the police to take action against the owner. Notably, the police have arrested three persons for violating COVID norms.

Seven lakh rupees were spent in the dog's birthday party

According to the Gujarat Police, around Rs 7 lakh was spent on the birthday celebrations of a dog named Abby. Chirag Patel has celebrated the birthday of his pet dog at Madhuvan Green party plot in Ahmedabad which cost around Rs 7 lakh. A video of the party went viral on the social media platform which showed that a group of local artists were singing songs and playing instruments as part of the celebrations.

COVID norms were violated

The said video also showed that guests had gathered at the venue and were seen flouting the rules without masks and social distancing. People at the venue could be seen gathering around the stage regardless of the COVID protocol. Many people raised the issue of violation of COVID rules following which three people were arrested by the police.

The arrested persons were identified as Abby owner Chirag Patel and his two friends Urvish Patel and Divyesh Mahariya.

Gujarat Government has imposed several restrictions

In view of rising COVID-19 cases, Gujarat has imposed night curfew and other restrictions in major cities including Ahmedabad. The state government order allowed political and social events, weddings to take place in open spaces with a maximum capacity of 400 persons and in closed spaces with 50 per cent space capacity.
