After the resignation of ex Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Monday 29 November, Parag Agarwal has been appointed as the new CEO of Twitter. Know about Parag Agarwal:

Soon after the announcement of Jack Dorsey's resignation on Monday 29 November Parag Agarwal became the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the social media app Twitter.

The decision was in the making for months as the board of Twitter was searching new candidate to change the company's CEO by replacing Jack Dorsey. Their search came to an end after selecting Parag Agarwal for the post, the one who was already a member of the company working as Chief technology officer (CTO) of Twitter.

Parag Agarwal, 45, was born in Mumbai India and did his schooling at Atomic Energy Central School in Karnataka, India. He had completed his graduation with engineering in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Parag then went to the United States in 2005 for further studies and joined Standard University, California from where he brought his doctorate degree.

An Indian-American technology executive, Parag started his career by working in research related works in three reputed companies which are Yahoo, Microsoft and American company AT&T. He was then appointed in Twitter in the year 2011 and got engaged to operate with ad-related products of the company but gradually he started taking interest in artificial intelligence.

Parag Agarwal became the first distinguished Engineer of Twitter because of his contribution across revenue and consumer engineering along with his role in the re-acceleration of audience growth in the years 2016 and 2017. In October 2017 Parag got a promotion and was employed as the CTO of the company.

Twitter informed that Parag will now be provided with an annual payment of 1 million dollars along with the stock payment worth 12.5 million dollars. Parag is regarded as one of the best engineers and he had also served as a member of the company's Technical Advisory Group (TAG).

Being a deeply technical person Parag is an expert in dealing with larger databases and has excellent knowledge and control over mathematics. He had played a major role in Twitter's technical strategies, science teams and supervised machine learning.
