Himachal Pradesh: Indian PM Narendra Modi, on Thursday, flagged off the fourth Vande Bharat Express Train. He flagged off the new train from the Una station in Himachal Pradesh. He is currently on a visit to the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

This train will travel between Una and Delhi every day, except on Wednesdays. This new train will have stoppages in Ambala, Chandigarh, Anandpur Sahib and Una. The train will leave from New Delhi at 5:50 AM and reach the destination Amb Andaura by 11.05 AM. And the return train will leave Amb Andaura at 1 PM and reach New Delhi by 6.25 PM.

This train has been built using new technology similar to the 3rd Vande Bharat Express which the PM had earlier flagged off in September and runs between Gandhinagar and Mumbai. Their lighter build allows them to accelerate faster compared to the previous version which enables them to reach 100kmph in just 52 seconds.

For safety measures, this Vande Bharat Express train uses KAVACH, the Train Collision Avoidance System of the country. It will also be equipped with four platform-side cameras instead of the previous two. It will also come with four emergency exit windows per coach.

The introduction of this train will reduce the travel time for the passengers. People will be able to reach Chandigarh from New Delhi and vice versa in just 3 hours. Also, the journey will be more comfortable and safe compared to the usual trains on the route.

The prime minister also laid the foundation stones for two hydroelectric projects in the state. He also laid the foundation stones of Bulk Drug Park. Built with an investment of about 1900 Crs., this project will employ 10,000 people in the state. It will also drastically reduce the import of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) to the country.
