PM Modi to Visit Noida for Jewar Airport Bhoomi Pujan on Nov 25

Uttar Pradesh will be the first state to have five airports with Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar district.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony for Noida International Airport on November 25 and with this Uttar Pradesh will become the first state in India to have 5 international airports.

It will be the latest on the list after the newly opened Kushinagar airport and the international airport in Ayodhya which is still under construction and the respective authorities have already started their security exercises.

The airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, is a significant infrastructure project for Yogi Adityanath's government in the state, which is set to hold its next assembly elections in early 2022.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inspect the preparations for the ceremony, which will take place at noon on Thursday and the Bharatiya Janata Party has also organized a large public meeting.

The airport is being developed in a public-private partnership (PPP) model and to be the biggest airport in India after completion. It is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Zurich International Airport AG, the Swiss concessionaire of the project.

The Noida Airport, with its size and capacity, will be a gamechanger for Uttar Pradesh, unleashing the state's potential to the rest of the world Northern India's logistics gateway will be the airport. It will also aid Uttar Pradesh's integration into the global logistics map.

In a statement, BJP mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has eight operational airports whereas 13 airports and seven airstrips are being developed. "With the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the Noida International Airport scheduled on November 25, the state is now on its way to have five international airports – the highest for any state in India".

Significance of the Noida International Airport

The Noida international airport will be the second international airport to come up in Delhi –NCR to serve the people of cities including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Aligarh, Agra and other neighbouring cities.

It will be the zero-emissions airport as the land embarked to be developed as a forest park using trees from the project site and will also preserve all native species and be nature positive throughout the development of the airport

The design of the airport is focused on low operating costs and seamless as well as fast processes for passengers. It will have a swing aircraft stand concept providing flexibility for both domestic and international flights from the same standpoint without repositioning the aircraft.

The airport will develop a Ground Transportation Centre that will feature a multimodal transit hub, housing metro and high-speed rail stations, taxi, bus services which will enable the connectivity of the airport with the road, rail and metro service. It will be also linked to the planned Delhi- Varanasi High-speed rail, enabling the journey in 21 minutes.

And finally, it will bring new opportunities for numerous enterprises as it plays a vital role in helping the region of local products to national and international markets and eventually will create employment opportunities.
