Bangalore: Popular Kannada TV actress Soujanya has allegedly committed suicide. On Thursday, the actress was found dead in her home in Bengaluru.
The 25-year-old actress also left behind a suicide note in which she described her struggle with depression which ultimately led to her death. In her four-page suicide note, Soujanya is found to be repeatedly apologizing to her family members and friends.
The note seems to have been written over a period of 3 days and suggests that Soujanya had been contemplating committing suicide. However, the note does not mention anything about seeking help for her mental health.
Soujanya, whose real name is Savi Madappa, originally hails from the district of Kodagu in Karnataka and had been living in Bengaluru.
A part of her note reads, "I am only responsible for this...so family, please forgive me...I had promised I'll never do such stupid thing in my life but I had no option. I was totally killed inside. Day by day, I was going so low. I never seen me before like before."
There has been much news about people's mental health getting affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns that had accompanied it. The monetary income of many had been put on hold while many have taken to suicide after being unable to find a solution to their woes.
Earlier in January, another Kannada actress, who was also a contestant of Bigg Boss, Jayasree Ramaiah, had died by suicide.
