PRAYAGRAJ: A very serious allegation came against a private medical facility in Uttar Pradesh. The family of a patient alleged that the doctors administered fruit juice to a patient instead of plasma which lead to his death.

The Global Hospital and Trauma Centre located in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh had a dengue patient under their supervision when the hospital allegedly administered mosambi juice in place of plasma.

Following the photos and videos that went live on social media, the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) issued a notice against the and sought a reply from its management within three days.

The administrative authority also mentioned that in case of a non-satisfactory response from the hospital administration immediate action will be initiated. A warning was also given about bulldozing the illegally constructed building. The administration has asked the hospital management why the hospital was constructed without having proper approval for the same. The notice was also been pasted outside the hospital premises by the authorities.

According to reports, the building was constructed without the due approval of the sitemap and the hospital was being operated indiscriminately. According to Prayagraj Development Authority's OSD Abhinav Ranjan, if a satisfactory response is not given within the stipulated time, the demolition action will be implemented.

The Global Hospital and Trauma Centre was sealed after a 32-year-old dengue patient died after he was allegedly transfused mausambi juice instead of blood platelets. A preliminary inquiry has been initiated by the district administration into the incident to reveal lapses on the part of the hospital authorities.

Reacting to the video that went viral, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak ordered local authorities to seal the hospital. "Platelet packets have been sent for testing. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against the hospital," he had said.

The family alleged that the patient's health condition deteriorated after the transfusion by the hospital. He was then rushed to another hospital, where he died. The family also mentioned that the doctors at the second hospital told them that the 'platelet' bag was fake and actually a cocktail of chemicals and mosambi juice.

The hospital authorities have however refuted these serious allegations and said that the platelets were procured by the relatives of the patient themselves.
