Guwahati: Congress Spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi quits the party on Thursday in the middle of the national election and complained about the Congress reinstating workers who had been thrown out last year for misbehaving with her.
Chaturvedi joined Shiv Sena after quitting from Congress. In a tweet, Chaturvedi said, "Lumpen goons get preference in the Congress over those who had given their sweat and blood."
On Friday, she tweeted her letter to the Congress President Rahul Gandhi in which she wrote, "In the last few weeks, certain things have convinced me that my services are not valued in the organization and that I have reached the end of the road. At the same time, I also feel that the more time I spend in the organization will be at the cost of my own self-respect and dignity."
Chaturvedi protested after sacked workers in Uttar Pradesh were taken aback with senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia is the Congress general secretary in charge of UP along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
She had also written in a tweet, "Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in the Congress over those who were given their sweat and blood. Having faced brickbats and abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate."
Chaturvedi also expressed her dismay to senior leaders but apparently, it didn't help and it is believed that she is upset about not being given a chance to contest the elections from Mumbai.
