AMRITSAR: After two repeated low-intensity blasts, the third explosion occurred in the early morning hours near Sri Guru Ram Dass Niwas, near the Golden Temple in Amritsar. So far, no fatalities have been reported. However, five conspirators involved in the incident were apprehended.

According to Punjab Police, their motive was to "disturb the peace." According to a local police source, "explosives used in firecrackers were used in the blast."

This is the third explosion in less than a week. The new blast comes after two blasts on Saturday (May 6) and Monday (May 8), both near Amritsar's Golden Temple.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Punjab Police are probing the event and have collected forensic samples from the bomb scene. However, no triggering materials were discovered at the site.

According to CCTV footage recovered near the blast site, miscreants launched a low-intensity explosion from the lavatory window of the Guru Ram Dass Inn (the oldest lodge) into the road surrounding the Golden Temple.

The incident caused no injuries. Locals and devotees originally mistook it for a terrorist strike. The police then confirmed that the explosion might have been an accident or a malicious act.

HS Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), criticized the Punjab government's failure, saying, "I can state that it is a total failure of the administration." Last night's incident would not have occurred if it had been thoroughly examined."

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, on the other hand, took to Twitter to announce the arrest of five people in the case.

The first explosion occurred on May 6 in a heritage street near the Golden Temple, followed by a second blast in the same area within 30 hours.
