NEW DELHI: In response to a video that appeared on social media showing a police officer confronting a busker who was performing in a public area, actor Rajesh Tailang criticised the Delhi Police. The actor who posted the footage expressed his displeasure with the police officer's actions.

The busker is hurriedly asked to leave the public space by a police officer while a large audience observes, and the actor from Delhi Crime posted the video to Twitter. The video footage gives the impression that the event happened in Connaught Place in Delhi. He stated: " Watched this clip on Instagram. @DelhiPolice this is not done. These artists make our Delhi more aesthetical, and musical. Shame !!!"

The busker is asked to stand up by the police officer in the video after he stops him from playing his guitar. The policeman claims that because the busker is disobeying orders, he was left with no choice but to respond in this way. The policeman then requests that the crowd of onlookers leave the area.

Since then, the video has received over 2 lakh views on Twitter, where numerous people have commented on the incident. A user commented," So many cities across the world have artists playing up on the streets and they are appreciated and never bothered by the Govt. Authorities or Police. Sadly, in India, all the restrictions are imposed on the common man or artists and not on Politicians spewing venom in Public. Shame!" While another said, "This is so disrespectful for an artist. Hope @DelhiPolice will apologise for this."

Ankit Tiwari, a singer known for his outspoken demeanour, has once again left his followers wondering, this time about whether busking is prohibited in India. The busker's treatment by the police officer disappointed the singer, who voiced his displeasure. He just posted the footage to his Instagram Story and asked, "Why busking is not legal in India? He is not doing any harm to others with his talent. We should respect musicians, he continued.
