KOCHI: A minor rape survivor who
was pregnant has reportedly flushed down her new born baby after she delivered
the baby inside a washroom.
The police said that the incident took place in a private hospital in Kerala's Kochi.
According to police a 20-year old youth allegedly raped the minor girl which resulted in pregnancy.
On Wednesday she went to a private hospital for her check-up with her mother and was waiting for doctor.
Meanwhile, after she started feeling pain, she went to washroom where she delivered premature baby. Later, she reportedly flushed down the newborn and returned to the scanning room. She did not reveal she had given birth to a baby.
The matter came into light after another patient went to the washroom and found remains of the prematurely born fetus.
After the information, the police rushed to the spot. During the preliminary interrogation the minor has confessed to having flushed down the prematurely born baby.
After the girl has started that she was raped by a 20-year old boy, her mother lodged an FIR following which police have registered a case against the youth.
Earlier, in a shocking incident, Teok police have arrested a man allegedly, for raping his own daughter. According to reports, Niku Bora, a resident of Meleng Gohain gaon, has been sexually abusing his 14-year old daughter for a long time. Based on the victim's complaint the Teok police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested her father. Police sources said that Niku married three women and the daughter he raped is from his second wife.
The victim lives with her grandmother and taking advantage of it the father raped her. Local people demanded adequate punishment for the accused. Earlier this month, a 45-year old teacher allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl at Baksa in Assam. According to police sources, the teacher was identified as Manik Nath (45) is serving at the Amrawati English School purportedly physically abusing the minor girl for several days.
