Roadmap to bring corona vaccine to all Indians is ready: PM Narendra Modi

Guwahati: India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort, said that the Government has prepared the roadmap to all Indians in the "shortest possible time."

"Our roadmap to bring corona vaccine to all Indians in the shortest possible time is ready. Three corona vaccines to all Indians in the shortest possible time is ready. Three corona vaccines are in various stages of trial in India; large-scale production will begin once we get a nod from the scientists", Modi said.

"We will announce the roadmap for its distribution as soon as it gets final clearances", Narendra Modi added.

Narendra Modi during his address also said the government would soon announce the National Digital Health Mission under which, every citizen would get a health ID.

"National Digital Health Mission will bring a new revolution in India's health sector," PM Modi said.

Health updates will be logged in the health ID on every visit to a pharmacy or a doctor, he further added.

"Every Indian will have his own health ID. This ID will have all details like disease, treatment, doctors, hospital visits, payment details, medicine he/she using," PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi also lauded the efforts put in by the healthcare workers and other Corona Warriors who have been relentlessly battling the coronavirus pandemic since the threat was reported in the country in January.

Amid the rising number of coronavirus cases in the state, the recovery rate has also witnessed a massive spike. At the same time, the fatality rate has also been showing a significant dip.

India recorded a single-day spike of 65,002 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data. This takes the total number of cases in India to 25,26,193. The country reported 996 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 49,036. There are 6,68,220 active cases in the country, with at least 18,08,937 patients discharged/cured.
