NEW DELHI: In a significant and empowering move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led an event where approximately 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly-inducted recruits. The unique aspect of this event was that it took place via video conferencing, making it accessible to individuals across the country. The Rozgar Mela was a grand affair held at 46 different locations nationwide, underlining the government's commitment to providing employment opportunities.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the newly-appointed recruits who had received their appointment letters. He emphasized the government's dedication to opening new doors of opportunity for women, marking a historic moment when the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' (Women's Reservation Bill) was passed, strengthening half of the country's population.

The Prime Minister further highlighted the remarkable impact women have consistently made across various fields, infusing new energy and driving progress. He also set a visionary goal for the nation, expressing India's resolve to become a developed nation by 2047.

PM Modi's words resonated with a sense of pride as he stated, "Aaj Bharat ki betiya space se sport tak anek keertimaan bana rahi hain" ("Today, India's daughters are achieving numerous milestones from space to sports"). He also confidently declared that India is on the path to becoming the world's third-largest economy within the coming years.

The Rozgar Mela event facilitated recruitment across various central government departments, state governments, and union territories. It encompassed ministries such as the Department of Posts, Indian Audit and Accounts Department, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, among others.

This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister's commitment to prioritize employment generation. The official statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) emphasized the event's significance, describing it as a catalyst for additional employment opportunities, empowering youth, and fostering their active participation in the nation's development.

To complement the employment drive, the newly-appointed recruits also have access to the Karmayogi Prarambh program. This program offers an online module on the iGOT Karmayogi portal, presenting more than 680 e-learning courses that can be accessed from any device and location. It serves as an opportunity for the recruits to enhance their skills and prepare themselves for their roles effectively.

The Rozgar Mela is part of a broader campaign initiated by Prime Minister Modi to create 10 lakh government jobs. Its significance was underlined in a previous event on October 22, 2022, where the Prime Minister launched this remarkable employment drive. In August of the same year, PM Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly-inducted recruits from various central armed police forces and organizations, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Delhi Police.
