Sagar Dhankhar Murder Case: Delhi Police Files Chargesheet Against Olympian Sushil Kumar

On Tuesday 11 January the Delhi Police in its supplementary charge sheet over the Sagar Dhankhar Murder Case recorded all the instances of violence by Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police in its supplementary charge sheet has recorded several incidents of violence and assault by Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar

According to the charge sheet by Delhi police over the Sagar Dhankhar Murder Case Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar had fired at dogs and abused Sagar Dhankar hours before murdering him.

The Delhi police have been investigating the murder case of Sagar very closely for a long time. On Tuesday 11 January the police in its chragesheet have collected all the incidents of assault and violence initiated by Sushil Kumar.

According to the supplementary chragesheet registered by the Crime Branch at Rohini Court, New Delhi in 2021 against 4 men, the murder incident took place on 5 May last year. The information was based on the revelation statement by Anil Dhiman, security officer of the Olympian and other accused.

In his statement to police, the security officer revealed that on the night of 4 and 5 May 2021 he was with Sushil. He said that on that night Sushil called a number of people on the basketball ground and said that he wanted to teach lessons to some people.

Anil Dhiman was employed as a security officer of the wrestler since the year 2019 and was working with Sushil at Chhatrasal stadium in Delhi.

the co-accused person named Rahul also gave his statement where he stated that Sushil was holding a licensed gun along with fellow wrestlers to watch all players and couches gathering.

As Sushil and other wrestlers reached there, a few street dogs started barking and Sushil Kumar allegedly started firing at the dogs and asked his two wrestler friends to leave the stadium.

A wrestler named Vikas at that time questioned Sushil about what happened to him and then he started attacking Vikas assaulted him by taking away his mobile phone.

Rahul informed that Sushul standing at the stadium said the information about whatever he does has been leaked by Sonu Mahal and Sagar Dhankar.

Sushil hit at head of the fourth wrestler with his pistol when he refused to hand over the phone on asking.

Sushil's security officer claimed that later on the same night Sushil along with him and others visited Shalimar Bagh and kidnapped two wrestlers named Ravinder and Amit, both were physically tortured along with Sagar at the stadium.

The group then took the dua Amit and Ravinder to the Chhatrasal stadium at around 11:30 pm and assaulted them as instructed by Sushil.

Dhiman in his statement further said that after kidnapping Amit and Ravinder, he along with Sushil went to a flat in the Model town area and they also kidnapped three wrestlers including Sagar Dhankar, Sonu and Jaibhagwan.

As per the chargesheet Dhiman quoted the Olympian ordering his friends to beat Sagar his partners mercilessly and not to live them alive.

Another co-accused named Praveen in the chargesheet stated that Sushil said he is the Gunda (gangster) of that area and how can they take over his flat.

Dhiman also said that they planned to murder Sagar and Jaibhagwan as per the wish of Sushil. The Olympian had feared then the duo was collecting certain information regarding him and was involved in a conspiracy against him. According to Sushil Sagar was about to damage his life and career therefore he wanted to kill him.
