New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya have released a joint statement to announce their separation on social media. The couple had sparked rumours about their separation after Samantha had dropped the surname Akkineni on social media.
The pair, who had been married for four years, addressed their fans on Instagram to express their thoughts on their separation and wrote, "To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during the difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support."
Before getting married in 2017, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had worked together in films like Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave and Autonagar Surya.
The couple had a South Indian wedding ceremony followed by a Christian wedding ceremony to complete their marriage in 2017.
Samanta Ruth Prabhu had recently made news for her role of Raji in the hit series The Family Man 2.
