NEW DELHI: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, has recently unveiled an online 'Yoga Store' on the popular e-commerce website Amazon. This store aims to provide sellers and yoga enthusiasts with a wide range of yoga-related products.
During the launch event, Sarbananda Sonowal expressed his belief in the significant impact of yoga on people's lives and emphasized its status as one of India's greatest assets. He acknowledged the role played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting yoga globally by establishing June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.
Speaking on the occasion, the Ayush Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Yoga is one of the greatest assets of India, and its positive way of life is making a significant mark among people now.
"I am confident that together we will embrace yoga towards achieving the vision of PM Modi of a Swasth Bharat.” Sonowal added.
Sonowal highlighted the increasing popularity of yoga and the growing interest in adopting a healthy and positive lifestyle. In line with the approaching International Day of Yoga, he inaugurated the online store to facilitate access to various yoga goods and accessories.
The Ayush Minister also expressed optimism that the platform would provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase and sell 'Made in India' yoga products, thereby boosting their businesses. Additionally, he emphasized the alignment of this initiative with Prime Minister Modi's vision of a Swasth Bharat.
By launching the online 'Yoga Store' on Amazon, the government aims to cater to the needs of yoga enthusiasts and support the flourishing yoga industry in India. This platform serves as a convenient way for individuals to find and purchase yoga-related items while promoting locally manufactured goods.
The introduction of this online store coincides with the upcoming International Day of Yoga celebrations, further encouraging people to embrace yoga and its positive impact on overall well-being. It is expected that the initiative will contribute to the growth of the yoga ecosystem, benefiting both sellers and consumers, while promoting the Swasth Bharat vision advocated by Prime Minister Modi.
