NEW DELHI: VIPs in Chandigarh have been demanding imported goods amid lockdown.
BJP Councillor Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu who works with moneyed people living between
sector 1 and 11 has said that people have raised demands for strawberries, broccoli and bell peppers.
Some families have said that they want bread from Nik Bakers.
The official has said that people are not listening and that they are going out for walks amid lockdown.
MC Commissioner KK Yadav has said that he has had people calling him up to arrange Figaro Olive oil. "Then there are people who say that they got cauliflower but not broccoli. Still we try and tell them to manage with whatever we are getting,” Yadav told media.
Other officials have reported that people are asking for skimmed milk and ice creams from certain brands.
Infact one VIP had threatened a senior officer by telling him that he would sue him as the officer was not able to arrange strawberries and kiwis for them.
