Sunil Babu, Art Director of Sita Ramam Dies At 50

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Director Sunil Babu took his last breathe at the age of 50 on 5th of January, Thursday 2023. The famous art director and production designer died in Kerela. 

As per the reports, he suffered a major cardiac arrest at a Ernakulam hospital, on Thursday night. The director was well known for his films Ghajini and Sita and Ramam. He was widely known for his contribution in the field of direction and production design. 

Sunil Babu was mostly involved with the Malayalam, Telegu, Tamil film industry. However, his sudden demise has shocked the entire film industry in India. Several dignitaries from the film fraternity wrote and expressed their grief on this news. Sunil Babu delivered top hits likes the Bangalore Days and Sita Ramam. 

He gave some Bollywood blockbusters as well including, Ghajini, Special 26, Singh Is King, Paa, MS Dhoni and list goes on. His latest project is yet to be released starring Vijay. 

It is one of the most awaited Tamil movie- Varisu. Actor Dulquer Salmaan penned a heartfelt note on Sunil's demise. On the note, Dulquer emphasised on how much of a down to earth person Sunil was. How he always worked with utter generosity despite being so talented. 

Anjali Menon, a well known Malayalam director also posted a sad note on social media. She recalls the old memories with Sunil, specially during the shoot of Bangalore days. Sunil Babu was awarded for his direction in the film Ananthabhadram. 

He won the Kerela State Film Festival in 2005 in the category of Best Art Director. Hanu Raghavapudi, director of Sita Ramam tweeted on the unfortunate demise. 

He was in a state of shock and could barely digest the fact that Sunil Babu is no more. Several condolences and prayer notes came from many members of the Telugu film industry.
