Training Plane Crashes After Colliding With Temple Dome, Pilot Killed

BHOPAL : A tragic incident took place on 5th of January, Thursday, where a training flight crashed into a temple in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. One pilot died in the episode and another one was critically injured. 

The training plane crashed late in the night at around 11:30pm to 12:00am, as stated by Rewa SP Navneet Bhasin. The aircraft belonged to a private owned company and was taxing from Chorhatta Airstrip. 

The crash occurred at a distance of 3 km away from the Chorhatta airstrip. Unfortunately, the flight collided with the dome of a temple and a tree situated in Dumri Village of Rewa district. 

The injured pilot has been admitted at a government run hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Medical college and is currently going under treatment. The aircraft was on training when the collision took place, added Navneet Bhasin. 

As soon as receiving the information, a team of police rushed to the area. In the preliminary investigation, it has been suspected that, dense foggy condition and bad weather resulted in low visibility, might have contributed in the occurrence of the unfortunate incident. 

The deceased has been identified as Captain Vimal Kumar of 50 years old. He was a resident of Patna, Bihar. The injured trainee hailed from Jaipur, and has been identified as Sonu Yadav of 23 years old. As per sources, loud explosion was heard in the area at the time of incident and wreckage of the aircraft was scattered all over the ground. 

Rewa collector, Manoj Pushp, informed that the Aircraft was owned by Falcon Aviation Academy. It is a private based aviation company that provides necessary training to aspiring pilots and air hostesses. Mr. Pushp and SP Navneet Bhasin were present at the stop for further investigation.
